Band Leader, ukulele bass, bass guitar, double bass<\/h3>\nBand Leader, ukulele bass, bass guitar, double bass<\/h3>\nWhy did you choose those instruments?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n I didn’t, they chose me.<\/p>\n Why do you play music?\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n I feel like it’s the easiest way for me to take part in a group conversation. That’s really important to me as I am really an introvert, but at the same time I very much enjoy the company of people. I just don’t find it easy to be part of the crowd unless I have an instrument in my hands.<\/p>\n What genres of music do you listen to most?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Any kind of jazz, especially if they are mixing it up a little, I’m not that fond of music that rigidly sticks to one style. Beyond that I like pretty much anything apart from pop and polka, though even they can be good. Last week I was listening to Prince, Talking Heads and Ian Dury, this week it’s chinese folk music.<\/p>\n I have none, The only music lesson I can remember at school was one where I didn’t attend. I was hiding in the toilets because I had forgotten to do my homework. I must have been about 8 years old.<\/p>\n What is your favorate quote?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n “If you understood everything I said you would be me” – Miles Davis<\/p>\n What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you on a gig?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n That’s a toss up between the drummer falling into a fireplace during the encore, or the drummer catching a fish that hit him in the head nearly knocking him off the back of a lorry. It always seems to happen to the drummer.<\/p>\n I’m Sean Connery.
